At present, the situation of forest fire prevention in Chongqing is extremely severe.
Since July 1, the average temperature in Chongqing has reached the highest value in the same period since meteorological records began in 1961, and the precipitation has been the second lowest in the same period since 1961. Moderate to severe soil drought has occurred in most areas of the city.
On July 12, Chongqing issued the first red warning signal for forest fire danger, 21 days earlier than last year.
From August 5th to now, Chongqing has issued the second red warning signal of forest fire danger this year for 18 days, and it will continue in the future.
The continuous high temperature and drought have caused the under-forest edge of herbs, shrubs and bamboo forests to dry up, and the trees are severely dehydrated.
