President Yoon Seok-yeol said today (24th) in relation to the 'three highs' such as high interest rates, high exchange rates and high inflation, "I will thoroughly check and respond to prevent a financial crisis from reoccurring and to aggravate the difficulties of the people's livelihood." I did.

President Yoon said in his remarks at the macro-financial situation inspection meeting held at the AT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul this morning, "The external financial soundness of our economy has improved a lot compared to the past crisis, but we cannot be vigilant."

This meeting was the second macro-financial situation review meeting following the first meeting held on May 13, which was the first outside schedule since President Yoon took office.

President Yoon said, "(At the first meeting) the macro situation at home and abroad is developing a little more difficult than what I predicted with private experts."

At the same time, he mentioned the weakness of the won due to the strengthening of the dollar, the increase in import prices due to the rise in raw material prices, and the widening of the trade deficit.

President Yoon also pointed out that although international oil and grain prices have stabilized somewhat, Russia's reduced gas supply to Europe is still not reassuring about inflation caused by global factors.

In particular, he pointed out that uncertainty and volatility are increasing due to interest rate hikes in major countries, and the possibility of a global economic slowdown is increasing.

In response, President Yoon emphasized, "Since the government switched to an emergency economic system in June, I personally preside at an emergency economic livelihood meeting every week to take care of the people's livelihood issues."

"Based on the discussion (at today's meeting), we will take detailed measures to deal with current issues and risks, such as stabilizing the financial and foreign exchange markets, expanding exports, improving the trade balance, and stabilizing prices and people's livelihoods," he said.

President Yoon added, "I will not let go of tension for even a moment so that the people can feel at ease."
