Trump handed over about 150 classified papers to the US National Archives and Records Administration in January, according to The New York Times.

Later, in June, representatives of the ex-president of the United States gave the rest of the materials to the Ministry of Justice.

Another part of the classified documents were seized during a search of the estate in Mar-a-Lago in early August.

To date, the US administration has 26 boxes of materials held by Trump.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal, citing an inventory of items, reported that FBI agents found 11 sets of secret documents during a search of the estate.

The FBI is investigating Trump for potential violations of the espionage law.
