Brazil: first campaign interview for Jair Bolsonaro between criticism and provocation

In the middle of the presidential campaign, the Brazilian president gave his first interview on the Globo channel.

The Brazilian head of state gave his first interview to a television news as part of the presidential campaign.

Monday evening, Jair Bolsonaro, candidate for his re-election, was the first to launch this cycle of interviews on the Globo channel, to which the four candidates at the top of the polls submit this week.

This interview is a first for Jair Bolsonaro, who during the last election had not participated in any debate or television interview, after being stabbed during his campaign.

The protests began at 8:30 p.m., at the same time as the Brazilian president's interview with pan concerts and cries of "

 fora Bolsonaro 

" ("outside Bolsonaro").

During the interview, Jair Bolsonaro also denies having insulted the judges of the Supreme Court and the electoral court.

He also denies preventing vaccine contracts during the pandemic.

Finally, he repeats his arguments questioning the reliability of electronic ballot boxes.

Shoulder to shoulder with Lula  

There is also this provocative sentence: " 

You encourage me to be a dictator

 ", launches the Brazilian president to the journalist William Bonner, who questioned him on his rapprochement with the center, which Jair Bolsonaro used to criticize before govern.

Despite the president's constant criticism on the Globo channel, and having discouraged his supporters from attending, this first campaign interview beat the audience of Flamengo's last Classico match against Corinthians earlier this month.

The former president will be interviewed on Thursday.
