A 15-year-old boy and girl were caught in the act of attempting to rob the museum of the Great War in the country of Meaux (Seine-et-Marne), this Friday around 11 p.m.
According to
La Marne
, they broke in while the venue is closed for the season.
They stole pistols and revolvers dating from the First World War.
But the museum's alarm went off.
Thanks to CCTV footage, the police spotted the two suspects nearby.
They were arrested and taken into custody.
A complaint lodged by the town hall
“They had just degraded a showcase and seized around twenty handguns, and equipment, type belts”, indicated to the

the assistant prosecutor at the Meaux prosecution, Marc Lifchitz.
The town hall filed a complaint.
“It is a place of memory, and a symbol of history”, declared the mayor Jean-François Copé, quoted by

“We are talking here about an attempted theft of handguns.
Only these goods were targeted,” he said, adding that one of the minors “is well known to the police”.
An investigation has been opened.
Both suspects have been charged.
