At the end of last month, it was confirmed as a result of SBS coverage that Poland signed a general agreement to purchase 980 K2 tanks and 648 K9 self-propelled guns in bulk with domestic defense companies, leading to the actual contract on the 26th.

What the Polish government and domestic companies signed last month was a kind of provisional contract with unconfirmed conditions such as unit price and period, and this time, we are signing a binding main contract.

An official from several defense companies told SBS reporter, "The first main contract for the K2 tank and K9 self-propelled howitzer will be signed in Poland on the 26th, three days later, with the Polish Minister of Defense and representatives of the company in attendance."

As a performance contract for the first export volume, 180 units of K2 tanks cost 4 trillion won, and 48 guns of K9 self-propelled guns cost 1 trillion won.

The K2 tank set a record for the largest single-business defense contract on its first export.

It is known that domestic delivery of the first contract for K2 and K9 will begin at the end of this year.

The second main contract for K2 and K9, which is currently under negotiation, will be subject to local production conditions in Poland.

The main contract for the FA-50 light attack aircraft, which is expected to export 48 units, is expected to be concluded within the next month.

An industry official said, "The FA-50 Poland delivery is next year, so we have plenty of time."

Regarding the concerns of some that Poland's exports will be realized according to the general agreement of tens of trillions of won, a key official of the Ministry of National Defense said, "Poland is actively securing a defense budget in response to the Ukraine crisis and stockpiling considerable funds."
