Russia requests a meeting of the Security Council on the Zaporizhia nuclear plant

Russia's Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, said that Moscow requested today, Monday, a meeting of the UN Security Council tomorrow on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.

In March, Russian forces took control of the Zaporizhia nuclear plant in Ukraine, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

The plant remains close to the battlefront and has been repeatedly bombed in recent weeks, raising fears of a nuclear catastrophe.

Ukraine and Russia accused each other of bombing the station.
