If the start of the school year is fast approaching, some are still taking advantage of the holidays, especially at the campsite.

Precisely, this week, Europe 1 takes you to Mas, a campsite near Martigues.

The opportunity to meet Jacques and Claudine, who have been spending their summers there for 40 years.

While some are preparing for the start of the school year, other lucky guys are still enjoying the holidays.

This week, Europe 1 takes you to Le Mas campsite, near Martigues.

For Jacques and Claudine, it is the holiday resort par excellence.

They have been spending their summers there for 40 years.

This year, they have set up their caravans there for four months.

Jacques and Claudine welcome us under the awning of their caravan.

Here, they are the doyens of the campsite.

"I've been camping for 40 years. Since then, we haven't moved and we really came by chance", recalls Jacques.

"We came with our noses in the wind. Then we made friends and so we came back every year," adds his wife.

The memory of "extraordinary evenings"

As for their most beautiful memories in the campsite: "tug of war", smiles Jacques.

"There were extraordinary dance evenings. We found ourselves with tables of 20 people. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, that no longer exists. We might dance less," smiles Claudine.

Because what has changed in a few years is the fact that "people had, like us, caravans that they left in place, so we all knew each other", she explains.

"It's true that now with mobile homes, people only come for a week, so we don't have time to sympathize that they are already leaving", regrets the regular.

Jacques and Claudine, on the other hand, now spend four months at the campsite, from July to October.

And once the tourist season is over, "there are a lot of foreigners who come but it's not the same, it's calmer, there is no longer the same atmosphere", remarks Claudine.

The opportunity for the couple to rest and continue to enjoy the atmosphere of the campsite, because even if the "camping spirit" has changed a little over the years, "if we're still here, it's good because we like it. It's a bit like family for us", smiles the couple.
