Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, criticized the Kyiv regime for its policy of endless accumulation of weapons supplied by the West and "a complete rejection of diplomacy."

According to him, Kyiv does not care about its own population, "categorically rejecting diplomatic efforts" and concentrating exclusively "on the accumulation of Western weapons."

Recall that on August 19, the United States approved a new package of military assistance to Kyiv for $775 million.

The new package includes ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS, 15 Sky Eagle drones, Harm high-speed anti-radar missiles, as well as 1.5 thousand TOW anti-tank guided missiles with a tubular launcher, optical tracking and wire control.

In addition, the new package includes 16 105 mm howitzers and 36,000 105 mm artillery shells, 40 MaxxPro armored vehicles with mine and ambush protection equipped with roller mine sweeps, as well as 50 armored, highly mobile multi-purpose wheeled vehicles ( HMMWV).

In addition, the Pentagon will deliver 1,000 Javelin ATGMs and 2,000 anti-tank shells to Ukraine.

Earlier, on August 8, the Pentagon also announced a $1 billion military aid package for Kyiv, which included munitions for HIMARS and NASAMS.

At the same time, the US Department of Defense refused to clarify how many such weapons are in question, citing the unwillingness "to give Russia information about every smallest detail."

In addition to shells for MLRS and air defense systems, Washington also allocated to the Ukrainian side 75,000 artillery shells of 155 mm caliber, 20 mortar systems of 120 mm caliber and 20,000 mortar shells of 120 mm caliber, Claymore anti-personnel mines.

In addition, the United States provided the Kyiv regime with 1,000 Javelin anti-tank systems and hundreds of AT4 anti-tank systems.

The Pentagon reported that in addition to this, they delivered to Ukraine 16 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (the Russian Ministry of Defense was informed about the destruction of at least 7 such MLRS), more than 1.4 thousand Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), 126 howitzers of 155 mm caliber and shells for them, two NASAMS air defense systems, 20 Mi-17 helicopters, hundreds of armored vehicles, 200 M113 armored personnel carriers (APCs), more than 10 thousand grenade launchers and small arms, as well as over 59 million rounds of ammunition for it.

The United States also sent more than 700 Switchblade drones, over 120 Phoenix Ghost tactical UAVs, and Puma drones to Kyiv.

In total, Washington has provided about $10.6 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the Biden administration came to power.

"Easy enough to fall off"

As military expert Yuri Knutov noted in an interview with RT, the nature of the supply of weapons to Ukraine from the United States suggests that Washington does not care about the death of civilians.

“But the worst thing is that Kyiv itself does not worry about this, which is pursuing a non-independent policy dependent on Washington.

The Kyiv regime is a puppet in the hands of the American authorities, which they use for their geopolitical purposes to counter Russia,” the analyst said.

In turn, military expert Ivan Konovalov said in a RT commentary that Kyiv is trying to "prolong the agony of its regime" through the supply of American weapons.

“In order to stay in power longer, the Kyiv regime needs new arms supplies, primarily from the United States, as well as more and more recruits who are poorly trained, but whom the Ukrainian authorities do not mind wasting,” he believes.

However, as Knutov noted, the amount of weapons supplied by the United States is not enough to change the course of the Russian special operation or "somehow turn the tide on the battlefield."

“These weapons are basically only capable of terrorizing the civilian population and causing them to panic.

Knutov also believes that the drones that are already arriving in Ukraine and that Washington is only planning to transfer to Kyiv do not pose a big threat to the Russian Armed Forces.

“Russian air defense is effectively fighting them, almost daily in the reports of the Russian Ministry of Defense we hear about the downed UAVs of the Ukrainian side.

The only thing that may be useful to the Kyiv regime is the linking of drones with long-range artillery systems that the United States has supplied.

This can affect the efficiency of firing, increase it.

But, given the pace of destruction of UAVs by the Russian side, it is quite possible that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not have time to use these drones in this way.

Knutov also believes that the drones and loitering ammunition that the United States intends to supply to Kyiv will be used mainly against the LDNR.

“They will be used in the shelling of civilians and infrastructure facilities.

But they will not play any fundamental role in the confrontation with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the forces of the LDNR, since the allied forces are effectively using methods to combat such UAVs.

At the same time, Knutov ruled out the use of American drones in provocations against Crimea.

“These weapons are not capable of reaching the territory of the peninsula if they are launched from areas that are still controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

I don’t think that these deliveries of drones and loitering ammunition will increase the risk of sabotage in Crimea,” the analyst said.

Knutov added that the United States does not intend to transfer those UAVs that could reach the territory of the peninsula to Kyiv, because they fear, among other things, that they will be intercepted by the Russian Armed Forces and studied.

“But even if such drones were delivered to Kyiv and sent in the direction of the Crimea, the Russian Armed Forces would destroy them even during the flight,” the expert said. 

Konovalov noted that from the entire list of the new package of military assistance to Kyiv, only Harm high-speed anti-location missiles can be noted.

“They have a range of about 50 km and can be used for counter-battery radars.

But they will also become a potential target for the RF Armed Forces, which may well destroy them.

At the same time, it is interesting how the Americans will supply Kyiv with another thousand Javelin anti-tank systems, given that they are not enough even in the US Army, and the production capacity is not enough to quickly make up for the shortage.

It is quite possible that the money intended for these weapons for Ukraine will subsequently be simply sawn up in the Pentagon, ”the expert said.

Knutov, in turn, drew attention to the fact that almost all the weapons that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had before the start of the special operation had already been destroyed by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

“By and large, if it were not for the new supplies from the United States and other NATO countries, all the tasks for the demilitarization of Ukraine would have been completed long ago.

Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain their combat capability solely through Western assistance.

But Russian troops are systematically destroying it, in particular, seven HIMARS, installations of the American Harpoon anti-ship complex, ammunition for them, as well as other weapons of the NATO standard.

The RF Armed Forces will soon be able to minimize the use of HIMARS by eliminating such MLRS, ”the analyst noted.

According to Konovalov, Russia has all the necessary weapons capable of repelling possible attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine using American weapons supplied to Kyiv.

“All provocations are reflected quite successfully.

At the moment, there is no reason for the current situation during the NWO to change in any way due to the supply of American weapons.

Like HIMARS, along with other similar systems, US drones are a target for the Russian Armed Forces and their air defense, there is nothing special about this, such weapons go down quite simply, ”the expert concluded.
