Bomb technicians from Stockholm were called and at 20.20 it was announced that the object found was a hand grenade, but that it had been "taken apart" and no longer posed a danger to the public.

Whether the hand grenade was sharp remains to be seen, but Ola Olsson, the police officer on duty in Örebro, tells SVT that weapons are sometimes found in areas like this, which he describes as a place where "criminal individuals" move.

During the time the site was cordoned off, a couple of properties were also occupied, i.e. the residents were not allowed to leave their homes in order not to be injured in the event of a possible explosion.
