China News Agency, Beijing, August 20th (Ma Shuisha Tang Mingjun) At 1:37 on August 20th, Beijing time, the Long March 2D carrier rocket successfully launched Remote Sensing 35 Group 04 satellites A satellite, B star, C star.

This marks the 103 consecutive successful launches of China's Long March series of launch vehicles, breaking the previous record of 102 consecutive successful launches.

The satellites A, B, and C of the 04 group of Remote Sensing 35 launched into orbit this time are mainly used in scientific experiments, land and resources censuses, agricultural product yield estimation, and disaster prevention and mitigation.

Among them, Star A and Star B are developed by the General Manager of the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and Star C and rocket are developed by the General Manager of the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

From the successful launch of the 17th returnable satellite by the Long March 2D carrier rocket on October 20, 1996 to the successful launch of the Ocean-2 satellite by the Long March 4B carrier rocket on August 6, 2011, China's Long March series rockets have launched 102 consecutive times The success lasted 15 years.

Since May 5, 2020, the Long March Rockets have set a new winning streak record of 103 times, and it took only 2 years and 3 months to complete this record.

During this period, the Long March rocket will successively include the Tianhe core module and Wentian experimental module of the Chinese space station, the Chang'e-5 lunar probe, the Tianwen-1 Mars probe, the Shenzhou manned spacecraft, the Tianzhou cargo spacecraft, and the Beidou-3 navigation satellite. More than 200 spacecraft, including the "Heavy Weapon of the Country", were safely sent into space, demonstrating the rocket's high success rate, high reliability, high orbit entry accuracy and high efficiency.

At present, more than 10 types of Long March rockets in service can not only launch satellites, space stations, manned/cargo spacecraft to different earth orbits, but also have the ability to launch unmanned deep space probes, and their strength has reached the world's advanced level.

Among the 103 consecutive successful launches of Long March rockets, there are "gold medal" veterans such as "Long March 2", "Long March 3" and "Long March 4", as well as "Long March 5", "Long March 6" and "Long March 7". "Long March", "Long March No. 8" and "Long March No. 11" are the "new generation" of the Long March.

China is currently developing a new generation of manned launch vehicles and heavy-duty launch vehicles. These rockets will undertake missions such as manned moon landing, Mars exploration, Jupiter exploration and asteroid exploration in the future, supporting the Chinese people to explore space steadily and far.

Long Lehao, a rocket expert from the First Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that with the continuous service, maturity and growth of the new-generation Long March rocket "family", the new and old rockets will continue to move towards high quality, high reliability and continuous success. Go forward, realize full alternation, continue to efficiently and reliably put various spacecraft into predetermined orbits safely, contribute more to building a strong aerospace country, and provide more help to promote national economic development, serve the national economy and people's livelihood, and create a better life.

This launch is the 62nd flight of the Long March 2D carrier rocket and the 433rd launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
