It was intended that Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) and her party mate in Malmö, Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh, would talk about completely different things at their joint press conference on Saturday afternoon.

The shooting death in Emporia on Friday night shifted the focus.

Once again, the two top politicians had to talk about serious crime.

- This is terribly reckless.

It shouldn't be able to happen in a public place.

It is disgusting, says Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh (S), municipal councilor and chairman of the municipal board in Malmö.

Crime in focus

It is three weeks until election day and crime in Malmö is a topic of conversation not only among politicians.

People we meet outside of Emporia are shocked, some are scared, and some are pissed off.

- What must happen now is that the negative spiral of violence must be cut off and quickly, says Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh.

In the video, she answers the question what the municipality is doing to cut off the tails of the criminal gangs.
