The South Korean Ministry of Defense revealed - in a statement today, Saturday - 1,760 new cases of Covid-19 disease among its soldiers, bringing the total number of cases to more than a quarter of a million injuries.
The statement indicated that the new cases include 1,131 infantrymen, 155 marines, and 214 air force personnel, according to the South Korean Yonhap News Agency.
The statement indicated 106 cases among the Marines, 122 among units under the direct command of the Ministry of Defense, 4 cases from the Ministry of Defense, and one case from the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
In a related context, South Korea recorded 129,411 cases of the Corona virus during the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of infections to 22,129,387 infections, according to what was announced by the Korean Agency for Disease Control and Prevention.
And the agency announced the registration of 84 new deaths from the Corona virus, which is the highest daily toll since recording 136 deaths on April 29, bringing the death toll to 25,980 deaths.
