Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, was subjected to a fierce attack on social media platforms in the past hours, because of a tweet saying that there will be no mercy for the Ukrainian people.

Mikhail Ulyanov's tweet came in response to another tweet by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressing his gratitude to the US government and President Joe Biden for granting his country a package of military aid estimated at $775 million.

After the fierce attack on him, the Russian diplomat deleted his tweet, in which he said, "No mercy for the Ukrainian people," and apologized for it, saying that he meant that the governments of Ukraine and America do not want mercy for the Ukrainian people.

"Attempts to link my words about the Kyiv policy with the call for genocide are absolutely outrageous and unacceptable, in fact, they are dirty ways," Ulyanov added.

This genocidal language must not be tolerated.

We call on the entire diplomatic community in Vienna to boycott Ulyanov, and on the host country, Austria – to declare him persona non grata.
