The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has launched a new service for the payment of compensation to taxi owners, allowing them to view the history of the exchange data and update personal data.

She stated that when creating a new account, beneficiaries can disburse their dues or transfer the exchange in the event of the owner's death.

She confirmed to "Emirates Today" that the service is only available to owners of old vehicles, who are registered with the authority, as it allows them to update the data electronically without the need to go to the customer center to submit documents, noting that it seeks to facilitate procedures for customers through the digital service.

The authority specified the documents required to update the data, which are: a copy of a valid passport, a copy of the family book, a copy of the Emirates ID, and a certificate from the bank with the account number, pointing out that “providing the service is free without any fees.”

The authority also announced the closure of Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi Street, from Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Khadim Square to Sheikh Abdul Karim Al Bakri Square, until the fourth of next September, to complete maintenance work.

And called for the use of alternative roads, to avoid any traffic jams.
