China News Service, August 19. According to Yonhap News Agency, on the 18th local time, Zheng Qingxin, the wife of the former Minister of Justice of South Korea and former professor of Dongyang University, Zheng Qingxin, applied to the prosecution for a suspension of sentence on the grounds of health problems and was rejected.

She was previously sentenced to four years in prison on charges of falsifying documents and allegedly investing in private equity funds.

According to reports, Zheng Qingxin applied to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office on August 1 to suspend his sentence on the grounds that the rupture of the intervertebral disc, stenosis, paralysis of the lower extremity, etc. needed to be operated as soon as possible.

At the meeting of the review committee, the prosecutors decided to refuse to suspend the punishment of Zheng Qingxin after conducting a comprehensive study and judgment on the materials submitted by Zheng Qingxin, the results of the on-site investigation, and the opinions of the medical advisory committee.

During the previous trial of the case, Zheng Qingxin had repeatedly applied to the court for bail pending trial on the grounds of health problems, but was not approved.

At present, Zheng Qingxin is also facing the first-instance trial of the Seoul Central District Court on suspicion of forging his son's life record book and internship certificate.
