As the deputy explained, in recent years there have been discussions in Russia regarding the expediency of a six-day school week in domestic schools.

“Indeed, the six-day period for schoolchildren (especially elementary grades) and their families is a difficult test: children do not have time to relax and spend enough time with their parents,” Krupnik added.

According to him, in a number of regions of the country where there is still a shortage of schools, the six-day period is a way out, but where there are no problems with this, the presence or even the imposition of such a concept “raises questions and concerns.”

“In the current situation, I ask you to consider the idea of a gradual transition of all schools in our country to the concept of a five-day school week for primary and secondary grades in the context of the strategy for the development of school education,” the text of the appeal says.

At the same time, the interlocutor of RT said that for high school students preparing for final exams and the Unified State Examination, the presence of a six-day period is “inevitable and even a desirable factor that allows you to devote more time to studying.”

He also stressed that Sergei Boyarsky, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, expressed support for this initiative.

The MP expressed readiness to join in the creation of such a document.

Earlier, Krupnik suggested checking the facts of unreasonable overpricing of food at airports.
