Regarding the former Unification Church, Komeito revealed that Election Committee Chairman Takagi and Diet Committee Chairman Sato had published articles in the past in response to interviews with magazines related to the church.
According to Komeito's announcement, in 2010, Takagi, chairman of the election campaign committee, was interviewed by a magazine related to the former Unification Church, and an article was published about that year's House of Councilors election.
Also, in 1999, the chairman of the Diet Affairs Committee Sato was also interviewed about security policy in the same magazine, and an article was published.
Komeito said, ``At the time, neither of them recognized that it was a magazine affiliated with the former Unification Church, and they did not receive any compensation, but they regret that they had a point of contact. We believe that we should refrain from contacting organizations that have troubles or related organizations, and we will not have any relationship with such organizations in the future."
