In total, Sweden has received around 1,500 vaccine doses against monkeypox.

These are to be distributed throughout the country, of which a significant amount goes to the Stockholm region.

In order to receive the vaccine, the person must have been in contact with someone who has been exposed to the infection.

According to nurse Mattias Garzón, who also works with infection tracking, there are many worried people who contact Venhälsan at Södersjukhuset and ask about vaccination.

But far from everyone gets it.

- I understand that you want to protect yourself against possible illness.

But we have no possibility whatsoever to prioritize differently, but must go by the recommendations that are available.
