To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, Leung Junyan, Chairman of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, invited the former and current Chief Executives and President of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to sign on the first day cover issued by Hongkong Post.
Liang Junyan posted on the social platform on the 19th that this year is the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In order to commemorate and celebrate this significant and important milestone, we have specially invited the past and current Chief Executives and Legislative Council Presidents to issue the exquisite "Hong Kong SAR" issued by Hongkong Post. The 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Special Administrative Region" was signed on the first day cover.
Liang Junyan pointed out that over the past month or so, I am very grateful to Mr. Tung Chee-hwa, Mr. Donald Tsang, Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Ms. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Mr. Li Jiachao, Ms. Fan Xu Lai Tai and Mr. Tsang Yok-sing for taking time out of their busy schedules to sign a total of 140 first-day covers.

Liang Junyan believes that the collection of signatures on the first day cover demonstrates the cooperation and interaction between the executive and the legislature.
This also adds a special meaning to the first day cover.
It is reported that one of the first day covers will be displayed at the ground floor lobby of the Legislative Council Complex starting from the 19th.
The first day cover with all the signatures will also be presented to Legislative Council members and the SAR government as souvenirs or for exhibition purposes.
