China News Service, August 19. According to Hong Kong Sing Tao.com, the Hong Kong Island Region Traffic Department, police officers from various police districts on Hong Kong Island, and traffic supervisors jointly conducted a Hong Kong Island Region Traffic Day on the 19th. Enforcement actions are taken at each traffic blackspot to ensure smooth roads and enhance road safety and law-abiding awareness of road users to safeguard public safety.

A total of 7 illegally parked vehicles causing serious obstruction were towed away and 3,684 fixed penalty notices were issued, mainly involving illegal parking, failure to obey traffic signs and road markings, etc.

Police used mobile video to cooperate with traffic enforcement operations. During the period, 28 illegal vehicles were found, and officers will prosecute the relevant persons.

In addition, officers issued 62 summonses, mainly involving pedestrians not crossing the road according to traffic lights and crossing the road within 15 meters of pedestrian crossing facilities.

The police appealed that, in addition to affecting other road users, traffic violations are more likely to cause traffic accidents and seriously endanger the safety of road users.
