“The stop in Chisinau, which was not originally planned in the route announced by the UN, occurred after Guterres visited Odessa on Friday,” RIA Novosti quoted the press service of the President of Moldova as saying.
It is expected that on August 20, the UN Secretary General will meet with the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu, and subsequently fly to Istanbul.
Earlier, Guterres, during a visit to the port of Odessa, called for unhindered access to the global food and fertilizer markets from Russia and Ukraine.
