The CumEx scandal continues to dog German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The former mayor of Hamburg filed again this Friday before a city commission of inquiry.
It was again a question of whether he had intervened for the benefit of a bank involved in the CumEX scandal, a complex device allowing investors to pay less tax on dividends.

again, during his second hearing before the parliamentary commission of inquiry, rejected any intervention by the city of Hamburg, which he headed at the time, for the benefit of the Warburg bank involved in the CumEx scandal.
The Chancellor denounced "
insinuations and suppositions
" in the media that nothing would come to support.
The Hamburg tax authorities had initially waived a tax adjustment for the banking establishment before the Ministry of Finance in Berlin finally demanded the reimbursement of 47 million euros.
Three meetings between Olaf Scholz and the boss of the Warburg bank still raise questions.
