Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said on Friday she had taken a drug test following a video clip published earlier this week in which she appeared to dance and play with her friends.

She confirmed that she had never used drugs, and added in a press conference, "I have never used drugs in my life."

After the video was leaked, Marine said - yesterday, Thursday - that she drank some alcohol but did not take drugs, stressing her right to enjoy her free time in the same way that others of her age do.

Some called for her to be tested for drug abuse, while others supported her.

And Sana Marin expressed her dissatisfaction with the publication of videos of her dancing in private parties on the Internet, after those clips were intended for friends to see only.

Marin, 36, spoke after a two-minute video of her singing and dancing with well-known local leaders and artists went viral on social media and Finnish media on Wednesday.

The clips were originally published on a private Instagram account.

Marine - who became the world's youngest in office in December - said she knew there was a filming of her, but it never crossed her mind that the videos would be available to the public.

"These videos are private and taken in a private place. I am upset that the public has been able to see them," Marin told reporters, adding that she did not know who leaked them.

Many Finns have expressed support for the prime minister to have her own life, but Helsingin Sanomat newspaper said this raised questions about her judgment. "Marin may have acted in good faith, but she shouldn't have been so naive," she said.

"In a delicate situation, the prime minister could put the weapons of information warfare in the hands of those who want to harm Finland," she added.
