6 people were killed in a violent storm that hit Corsica, France

At least 6 people were killed, including a girl, after a violent storm hit the French Mediterranean island of Corsica today, in light of forecasts of more bad weather, represented by cold, heavy rain and winds that swept the island early today and reached its peak speed 224 kilometers per hour.

The French Meteorological Service stated that storms forming in the sea would affect large parts of the west coast of Corsica during the night from Thursday to Friday.

Gerald Darmanin, the French interior minister, said 350 people had gone missing at one point because the pleasure boats capsized or drifted, but it has now been confirmed that they are alive.
