“The inquiry opened a criminal case under the article on the destruction or damage of forest plantations on the facts of two fires in the Kudomsky district forestry,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
He also said that careless handling of fire was the cause of the fires.
According to the source, the persons involved are currently being identified.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Alexander Kurenkov, went to the Ryazan region in order to coordinate the extinguishing of large centers of forest fires.
