Several participants said that the political foundation of the "1992 Consensus" must be adhered to and the interference of external forces must be firmly opposed.

The seminar included two sub-themes of "adhering to the '92 Consensus', maintaining peace and development across the Taiwan Strait" and "joining hands against 'independence' and promoting reunification, and realizing the vision of national rejuvenation".

　　Liu Xiangping, director of the Taiwan Institute of Nanjing University, believes that the history of the "1992 Consensus" reached between the two sides of the Strait is clear, and no one can deny or distort the fact that the "1992 Consensus" exists and its connotations.

Documents from the Taiwan authorities have clearly pointed out that both sides of the Taiwan Strait adhere to the one-China principle, and declared that they have begun the pace of national reunification.

It can be seen that the core connotation of the "1992 Consensus" is indeed that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China and jointly seek national reunification; with the "1992 Consensus", cross-strait relations will have a bright future.

　　Regarding the current tension between the two sides of the strait, Zhao Jianmin, dean of the Academy of Social Sciences at the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan, said that the "1992 Consensus" is the political foundation found by both sides of the strait.

If the DPP authorities do not agree with the "1992 Consensus", they must find a new solution. However, the world sees that they have not found an alternative solution other than criticizing and smearing. Therefore, the significance of the "1992 Consensus" deserves more attention.

It is a pity that Taiwanese society misunderstood the "1992 Consensus" under the manipulation of the DPP authorities. Taiwan compatriots should see clearly the essence of cross-strait relations, the urgency of improving relations, and get out of the misunderstanding.

History has shown that cross-strait exchanges and cooperation have brought tangible benefits to Taiwan compatriots, and cross-strait confrontation will only harm the well-being of Taiwan compatriots.
