“It is becoming increasingly clear that skyrocketing prices will swallow up all the aid that has been announced so far,” said Citizens Advice chief executive Claire Moriarty, calling for increased support for the most vulnerable.
Electricity bills in the UK could top £100 a week, according to Auxilione, an energy consultancy.
The company also noted that if gas prices do not fall in the coming months, average households will have to pay about 4-5 thousand pounds a year.
