Death toll from Kabul mosque bombing rises to 21

The Afghan police announced today, Thursday, that 21 people were killed and more than twenty others were injured in an explosion targeting a mosque crowded with worshipers in the Afghan capital.

Police spokesman Khaled Zadran said in a statement: "Yesterday, Wednesday, an explosion occurred in a mosque during evening prayers. As a result, 21 of our citizens were killed and 33 others were injured."


He told AFP that the explosion was caused by explosives placed in the mosque in the northwest of the Afghan capital.
