China News Agency, Beijing, August 17 (Reporter Zhang Su) Chinese officials announced on the 17th that Xie Jilai, former deputy director of the Hebei Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, was suspected of taking bribes.

A few days ago, the Supreme People's Procuratorate made a decision to arrest Xie Jilai on suspicion of accepting bribes.

The case is being further processed.

According to public information, Xie Jilai was born in Jinzhou in February 1953. He started working in November 1972 and joined the Communist Party of China in April 1980. He graduated from the Chinese Department of Hebei Normal University with a university degree.

Xie Jilai, 69, retired in January 2017.

Five years after he retired, he was officially notified that he was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and was subject to disciplinary review and supervision and investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission.

On July 29 this year, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission notified him that he was expelled from the party for serious violations of discipline and law.

In the Party Disciplinary and Administrative Punishment Bulletin, Xie Jilai was accused of "using the selection and appointment of cadres as a tool to seek personal gain, wantonly selling officials, promoting the evil spirit of running away from officials to buy officials, seriously damaging the credibility of organizational work, and destroying the local political ecology."

The outside world has noticed that the phrase "increasing the evil spirit of running and buying officials" is extremely rare in the notices of other "dismissed" officials' party discipline and government sanctions.

Xie Jilai worked with Song Taiping, a former member of the Hebei Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee and deputy director, who was tried in Shanxi in March on suspicion of taking bribes.

Song Taiping was expelled from the party in the party discipline and government punishment notice, there are also expressions such as "lack of organizational principles, selling officials and vassal" and so on.

In addition, Xie Jilai was accused of illegally accepting large gifts and gifts, serious living style problems, and "using the convenience of his position to make profits for others in terms of job promotion, job adjustment, real estate development and construction, and illegally accepting huge amounts of property".
