The German InterNations organization revealed that the UAE ranked first in the world in the ease of moving to reside and living on its land, and ranked second globally in the axis of providing the basic needs of residents.

Finally, according to a report issued by the organization, the UAE ranked sixth globally among the best countries for residents, and the only country in the Middle East and North Africa that came among the top 10 countries in the general ranking of the report issued by the organization, on the best destinations for expatriates for the year 2022.

The report relied mainly on residents' opinion polls, considering it the best country in the Middle East and North Africa.

The UAE also jumped 12 ranks at once in the report, as it advanced from the 18th place globally, last year, to the sixth place.

The UAE ranked fifth globally in the axes of quality of life and the transition to work in the country.

And it is ranked 13th globally in the ease of stability in the country.

The UAE also ranked second globally in the language and ease of communication index in the UAE society.

It ranked third globally in three indicators: ease of administrative procedures, career prospects, and entertainment options.

The UAE came in fifth globally in the axes of travel and transit, and the culture of satisfaction at work.

And it ranks seventh globally in the safety and security index.

And it is ranked ninth globally in the health care index.

And 14th globally in the digital life and housing indicators.

And it is ranked 17th globally in the salary and job security index.

The report revealed the superiority of the UAE in the opinion polls directed to residents, on which the report relied, exceeding the global average by up to 34%.

94% of the residents surveyed reported feeling safe in the UAE, while the global average did not exceed 81%.

The percentage of residents who reported easy access to healthcare services in the UAE was 78%, while the rate globally was 64%.

And 79% said that moving to live in the country improved their career prospects, while the global average for this is 65%.

And 85% of those surveyed said that they found that “knowledge of the local language does not constitute an obstacle to communication,” while the global average for this indicator was 51%.

Consequently, the UAE exceeded the world average by 34 points.

The report pointed out that 83% of the residents find the administrative procedures easy and simple, with a preference of 27% over the global average, which is 56%.

75% of those surveyed say it is easy to find a home, while the global average is 54%.

83% also confirmed that it is easy to obtain a visa to move to live in the UAE, while the global average is 56%, which makes the UAE ranked first in the world in this field.

86% of the residents included in the report expressed their happiness with the availability of government services, with the UAE exceeding the global average by 25 points, where the global average is 61%.

90% of them reported their ability to pay without using cash, while the global average does not exceed 84%.

The report, which is issued annually, included the general ranking of countries that represent destinations for expatriates in 2022, through an overview of the best and worst destinations, in terms of quality of life, ease of settling and working abroad, availability of basic needs and personal finance.

The report relies 100% of its methodology on opinion polls in the societies of the countries it monitors.

It measures 52 countries that are the most important countries in which expatriate communities live through five main axes, which are the availability of the basic needs of expatriates, ease of settlement, quality of life, moving to work in the country, and personal finance.

The report was based on opinion polls conducted between February 1 and 28.

It included 11,970 opinion polls in 52 countries, and included 177 nationalities.

InterNations is a German network specialized in research related to the quality of living in various countries and cities of the world, based on questionnaires for the opinions of samples of arrivals for different research.

It is also considered a forum for expatriates around the world by holding meetings to exchange opinions and experiences among them.

Regarding the most important sectors in which residents work, opinion polls in the UAE showed that 11% of the residents surveyed work in finance-related jobs, 8% work in hospitality (hotels and restaurants), while 7% work in engineering and manufacturing.

The average weekly working hours for those surveyed in the UAE amounted to 46.3 hours, of whom 93% work in the full-time system, compared to 7% in the part-time system.

34% of those surveyed in the UAE said that they moved to find work on their own, while 14% said they were employed and brought from their country, and 9% of residents came to the UAE in search of a better life.

The average age of the residents included in the report from the UAE was 39.5 years.

The UAE outperformed in opinion polls directed at residents, exceeding the global average by up to 34%.

The UAE is the only country in the Middle East and North Africa among the top 10 countries in the overall ranking of the report.

90% confirmed their ability to pay without using cash... and 75% confirmed the ease of finding housing.
