During Wednesday, it was the last day of the trial in the case where a 22-year-old man stands accused of having shot a 17-year-old boy in the head.

The incident occurred in a hotel room at Linköping's arena in November last year.

The 17-year-old survived, despite the gunshot wound, and the prosecutor charged the 22-year-old with attempted murder.

During the last day of the trial, chamber prosecutor Britt-Louise Viklund requested that the 22-year-old be sentenced to twelve years in prison for attempted murder.

However, the district court chose to release the 22-year-old from custody - an indication that the district court does not consider the evidence against the man to be valid.

The accused man has connections to the criminal gang X-team.

According to the arrest warrant, the sentence will be announced on August 31.
