This is Sevilla's fourth signing after Brazilian central defender Marcao (Galatasaray), fellow Brazilian left-back Alex Telles, on loan from Manchester United, and attacking midfielder Isco (Real Madrid).
Fourth last season, Sevilla started La Liga with a 2-1 loss at Osasuna on Friday.
