During Monday, RFSL hung newly purchased backdrops on the stage for Luleå Pride in the city park.

But when the association's chairman Joakim Isaksson Markström cycled to work on Wednesday morning, he discovered that someone had torn up the backdrops.

- I am angry and very sad.

We work very hard and everything costs an incredible amount of money, work and resources.

The costs for the backdrops are around 20,000 and the vandalism has been reported to the police.

- We have a good and close dialogue with the police and the security police and we listen to their assessments.

I do not want to comment further on our security work.

Pride flags stolen

At the regional center in Luleå, two out of three pride flags have also been stolen.

- We will report this to the police during the day, says Emma Bergström Wuolo, press officer at Region Norrbotten.

"Tags me in a way"

The events will not affect the festival according to the organizer.

- As long as it's like this, that we can't even hang a flag or set up backdrops, then Pride will be needed.

It kind of ticks me off.

A private person has now contacted the RFSL and offered to try to fix the backdrops.

Someone has cut into RFSL's backdrop on the stage in Stadsparken in Luleå.
