According to SMHI, the downpour produced 161.6 millimeters in Gävle between August 17-18.

101.9 millimeters of that precipitation also fell in two hours.

Many are still struggling with the consequences of the rainy weather that paralyzed large parts of Gävle.

One of the buildings housing students at the University was at risk of collapsing due to the large bodies of water.

Frida Funemo says that there is no longer any racial risk at the student accommodation in Gävle.

- The only thing we prioritized was getting students out, says Frida Funemo, who is a property manager at K2A, which runs the student accommodation.

"The whole thing was destroyed"

Yngve Wassberg was hit hard by the amount of water that penetrated into his basement.

To this day, he still has not received compensation for the movables - such as tools and instruments.
