Various natural disasters caused a total of 16.92 million person-times affected, 90 people died and missing due to the disaster, and the direct economic loss was 28.59 billion yuan.

  He introduced that the national natural disasters in July mainly showed the following characteristics:

  First, flood disasters occurred in both the north and the south, and local losses in Liaoning and Sichuan were relatively heavy.

  Second, there were 10 strong convective weather events across the country, which were more than the same period of the previous year.

  Third, the number of landfall typhoons is small. Typhoon "Siamba" is the first typhoon to land in my country this year, with a wide range of influence, long duration and large cumulative rainfall.

  Fourth, the number of high temperature days was more than the same period of the previous year, and periods of drought occurred in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and other places.

  Fifth, two earthquakes of magnitude 5.0 or above occurred in mainland China, causing no casualties.
