Last week, an upset man sent an email to Öland Municipality's street office.

The reason is that the man is tired of cyclists driving too fast through Mörbylånga during the triathlon race's cycling phase.

Something that Barometern was the first to tell.

"In Mörbylånga there is a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour.

I think it is wrong that cyclists are given permission to break this speed limit and expose themselves and others to possible accident risks.

The same thing with roads being blocked off where there are bike lanes," the man writes in an email to SVT.

Want the police to make an effort

Now the man wants to see the police take action.

"I want police officers who carry out speed checks on the cyclists to make sure that they do not exceed the speed limit and are fined in case of violation," the man writes in the email to the Mörbylånga street office.

The organizers have permission

In the return email, the municipality's street technician Christina Hysing Borrhed replies that Ironman has the permits from the County Board and that it is an exception to carry out the cycling event.

"The competition and its participants may exceed the prevailing speed regulations and regulations on the applied and decided route", writes Christina Hysing Borrhed.
