They still can't come back.

Reported missing in 2013 on the island of Oléron, when he was three years old, their cat Bouda was found a few days ago, now twelve years old.

Karelle and Pascal Bourret, who now live in Saint-Jean-d'Angély (Charente-Maritime), were contacted on August 13 by the Refuge Oléronais association, which had found a few days earlier an animal registered at their name, reports

The family went to the island on Monday to pick up their feline.

“In 2013, we lived in Saint-Trojan-les-Bains, then in Dolus-d'Oléron, that's where we lost him, explains Pascal Bourret in a video, broadcast on social networks.

We looked for him, but not finding him, I was convinced that he had been killed… And now nine years later, the association called us.

The cat was living in a box in full sun covered with a towel when it was found.

Social networks allowed the association to trace the thread to the owners of the animal, when they had just returned to mainland France after having moved for a time to Reunion…

The cat would obviously never have left the Saint-Trojan sector during all this time.

And if its owners are obviously happy and relieved, they are nevertheless worried about its state of health, the animal seeming fragile.
