“The basic agreement of the European Union allows member states to block the entry of Russian citizens,” TASS quoted him as saying.
According to him, the laws of the European Union "make it possible to block the entry of even EU citizens into one or another country of the community."
Earlier, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis proposed at the EU level to ban Russian citizens from entering the community countries.
Latvian President Egils Levits supported the idea of banning the issuance of EU visas for Russian citizens.
