Representatives of all eight parties in the region take part in the debate.

The debate is a collaboration between Västerbottens-Kuriren, Folkbladet and SVT Nyheter Västerbotten.

- The media houses in Västerbotten have collaborated before, and it feels good that it is now happening again, especially when it comes to something as important as an election.

The childbirth issue has been on the agenda in the county for many years, and hopefully we can give the voters a little more meat on the bones about how the various parties want to solve the problems that exist, says Elin Turborn, reporter at Västerbottens-Kuriren.

Important electoral issue in the region

Leading the debate is Emma Grönlund, presenter at SVT in Umeå, together with Elin Turborn, at Västerbottens-Kuriren.

Folkbladet's reporter in Lycksele Emanuel Eriksson will act as audience host and pick up questions that the audience wants to ask the politicians.

- We know that this is a very important election issue for many and a subject that engages.

We want the politicians to answer the question how they want to solve the problems surrounding maternity care.

It was obvious for us to have the debate in Lycksele because that is where the problems have been evident, when BB has been forced to close several times in recent years, says Maria Ehrlin, editor at SVT news, who is one of the people responsible for the debate.

The debate starts 19:00-19:45, on August 24, at Medborgarhuset in Lycksele.
