A large number of unique samples of weapons and military equipment are presented at the Army-2022 International Military-Technical Forum taking place these days.

Thus, the Center for High-Strength Materials "Reinforced Composites" JSC (TsVM "Armocom") presented a whole line of the latest personal protective equipment.

This company is one of the main suppliers of body armor, helmets and protective overalls for law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation.

For the needs of military engineers involved in mine clearance, the enterprise, together with the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, developed the Vityaz-OS protective suit, which consists of a special jacket with a detachable collar and trousers.

All items of clothing are made of flame retardant fabric that can withstand exposure to an open flame for 30 seconds.

When it becomes necessary to perform combat missions, the serviceman additionally puts on a bulletproof helmet with a visor and a bulletproof vest with groin protection.

The weight of the suit is 6.3 kg, the weight of the entire set reaches 33.1 kg.

“The weight of the kit for the “engineers” is impressive.

However, it does not restrict movement and is quite compact with, perhaps, the maximum level of protection against damaging elements, ”said Roman Samokhvalov, head of the marketing department at Armokom, in a commentary to RT.

In the interests of assault units, the company developed the SK-EK bulletproof vest weighing 15.2 kg, of which 10 kg falls on two ceramic armor panels.

The outfit is quickly put on, quite easily adjusted to the fighter's anthropometry and is equipped with an emergency reset system.

Now this product is being tested in the troops of the Russian Guard.

“When creating this bulletproof vest, we proceeded from the fact that the maximum area of protection of a fighter is important for assault operations.

Naturally, the mass of equipment also increases, especially since the soldier also carries ammunition.

However, assault operations, as a rule, take place in a short period of time, so the weight of body armor is not critical, ”says Samokhvalov.

The company also presented the Vulkan VKS protective kit at Army-2022.

It is designed to protect army aviation pilots from bullets and secondary fragments (objects in the habitable compartment of a helicopter).

The complex includes an armored helmet, a flight suit and body armor of two types: the first - in the projection on the vital organs, the second - without it.

“This is a fireproof, anti-fragmentation and anti-bullet kit.

Plus, it is equipped with a system of evacuation, survival and placement of equipment: radio stations, ammunition, rescue equipment in various conditions.

Testing of VKS Volcano is scheduled for the second half of this year,” said Samokhvalov.

Another novelty of Armokom is the Zaslon modular assault armored shield weighing just over 10 kg.

This product is lighter than typical assault armored shields, but at the same time has a reduced area that reliably protects only vital organs.

To protect the lower part of the body, additional armor panels are suspended from the "Barrier" - the so-called aprons.

According to Samokhvalov, the lightweight armored shield is able to withstand bullets of any caliber and is very convenient for a dynamic assault on vehicles.

In an interview with RT, Alexander Butyrin, a columnist for the Firing Line magazine, noted that Armokom's personal armor protection equipment performs well in combat conditions.

“Armocom has really high-quality products.

I think that now it is very much in demand in the context of NWO.

Of course, a remarkable novelty at Army-2022 is a protective kit for helicopter pilots, ”says Butyrin.

Modules, bombs and missiles

This year, a very extensive exposition of weapons was demonstrated at Army-2022.

For example, Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) has placed on its site samples of several combat remotely controlled modules (DUM) designed to fire at ground, air and surface targets.

The destruction complexes can be installed on various types of armored vehicles, small-tonnage ships and stationary objects.

Depending on the modification, the modules are equipped with machine guns, grenade launchers, and cannons of 30 and 57 mm caliber.

Along with this, UVZ posted a stand on the forum with a description of the Prometheus combat security system.

It consists of 16 stationary remote modules combined into a control loop.

The basis of armament of the DUM is 12.7-mm machine guns "Kord".

The Prometheus kit also includes means of acoustic and light warning of intruders, a complex for detecting and capturing targets, a thermal imager and a day camera.

This year, Rostec placed in its pavilion at the Army a mock-up of a new 30-mm ZUOF23 round with a high-explosive fragmentation incendiary projectile and a controlled remote-contact fuse (UDKV).

The ammunition is intended for firing from automatic guns 2A42 and 2A72, which are installed on air and ground platforms of the RF Armed Forces.

The ZUOF23 projectile is designed to destroy manpower, unarmored vehicles and air attack weapons at ranges up to 4 km.

It is many times superior to regular ammunition in terms of efficiency, primarily due to the presence of UDKV.

“The product is a qualitative step in the development of small-caliber ammunition due to the transition to controlled remote detonation,” the Rostec materials say.

In addition to the latest ZUOF23 shot, the state corporation demonstrated a wide range of modern ammunition for tank, field and naval artillery, including a 125-mm round 3VBM23 "Lead-2" and a shot with a high-powered Mango-M sub-caliber projectile of the same caliber.

Both projectiles are distinguished by increased armor penetration at a level of more than 20%.

"Lead-2" and "Mango-M" are able to confidently hit almost the entire range of armored vehicles from a distance of more than 2 km.

Of the aerial bombs, Rostec placed in its pavilion the PBK-500U SPBE-K gliding ammunition, designed for round-the-clock all-weather use without the carrier entering the target air defense fire zone.

At the theater of operations, the PBK-500U SPBE-provides the defeat of armored vehicles, ground-based radars, command posts and power plants of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM).

From the aviation missile armament, the “Army-2022” air-to-air guided munition RVV-MD developed by JSC “Special Design Technology Bureau “Kurganpribor” is presented.

The missile is adapted for close, highly maneuverable air combat and ensures the destruction of targets from any direction and with active opposition from the enemy.

It can be installed on both airplanes and helicopters of the Aerospace Forces.

The maximum launch range of the RVV-MD reaches 40 km, the mass of the warhead is 8 kg, the maximum height of the targets hit is 20 km.

Along with the Kurganpribor ammunition, Army-2022 demonstrated a light air-to-surface cruise missile, also known as the Product 305.

The missile is designed to equip modernized versions of the Mi-28N Night Hunter and Ka-52 Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopters, which are widely used during the special operation.

The mass of the warhead "Product 305" is 25 kg, the guaranteed flight range is 14.5 km, which is twice the distance from which other modern missiles of the Russian army aviation can be used.

"Positive trend"

For the first time in naval technology, the forum demonstrated a layout of the strategic missile submarine cruiser (SSBN) Arktur, adapted for combat duty in the waters of the Arctic.

The product is located at the site of the High Command of the Navy.

The developer of the concept of a new underwater carrier of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) is the Rubin Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering.

The submarine will have a smaller displacement and the number of ICBMs on board than modern missile carriers.

The Arcturus will be 134 meters long, 15.7 meters wide, and have a crew of about 100.

An important feature of the promising SSBN is the presence of a compartment for accommodating an autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle in the Surrogat-B modification.

As previously reported, this type of maritime drone can be engaged in mapping, reconnaissance and simulate the actions of an enemy submarine.

It is assumed that the Arcturus will replace the Project 955A Borey-A cruisers and become the carrier of more advanced ICBMs.

Also at the stand of the High Command of the Navy, models of promising ships, including unmanned ships, and UAVs for naval aviation are presented.

In an interview with RT, military expert Nikita Buranov noted that this year an unusually wide range of unmanned vehicles for various purposes was presented at the Army forum this year.

“The abundance of drones is an important positive trend.

I think that many of the samples presented for the first time at the forum will find their practical application.

This year, against the background of the special operation, the “Army” has become a very significant platform for meetings and negotiations between the military and representatives of the defense complex of our country,” Buranov summed up.
