He noted that in this way the United States made a conscious attempt to escalate the situation in the Asia-Pacific region.
“The American adventure against Taiwan is not just a trip of an individual irresponsible politician, but part of a purposeful, conscious US strategy to destabilize and chaotic the situation in the region and the world, a blatant demonstration of disrespect for the sovereignty of other countries and for its international obligations,” Putin said.
The Russian president stressed that Moscow sees such actions by Washington as a carefully planned provocation.
