“I would like to emphasize that it is a multipolar world built on international law and fairer relations that opens up new opportunities for combating common threats.

Among them are regional conflicts and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, terrorism and cybercrime,” the Kremlin’s press service quoted him as saying.

As Putin noted, the relevant challenges are of a global nature, and “they cannot be overcome without combining the efforts and potentials of all states.”

Earlier, Putin said that Western countries are trying to maintain hegemony by implementing a policy of containment, undermining any alternative development paths for other countries.

At the end of June, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev announced the formation of a new multipolar system in the world.
