As of today (16th) in Hainan, China, where the lockdown order was imposed due to the spread of Corona 19, 21 Korean travelers were identified as being quarantined.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with reporters and said, "As of 7:00 am on the 16th, 18 people from Sanya City, Hainan Province, and 3 people from Haikou City, Hainan Province, have been quarantined at their accommodation."

44 people have already left the island after the lockdown and have returned to their Chinese residences, he added.

From the 6th, Hainan authorities have completely restricted movement in and out of Sanya, and have expanded the lockdown area to Haikou.

Starting from the 10th, if you test negative for PCR twice within 48 hours, you can return to your residence.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We plan to continue assisting the consul for the smooth return of quarantined Koreans."

Sanya, located at the southernmost tip of Hainan Province, is a leading resort city in China.
