On August 13, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, wrote to Li Peisheng and Hu Xiaochun, staff members of the Huangshan Scenic Area in Anhui, saying that they "cleaned the environment among the cliffs for many years, and took care of the thousand-year-old welcoming pine trees day after day. He fully affirmed their dedication and dedication to protect the beautiful Huangshan Mountain with heart and affection, and raised ardent expectations for them to continue to play a role as a good example of "good Chinese people".

Li Peisheng and Hu Xiaochun are respectively engaged in sanitation cleaning and guarding the welcome pine in Huangshan Scenic Area.

Recently, our reporter approached Li Peisheng and Hu Xiaochun, two "good Chinese people", to record their stories of dedication and dedication in ordinary positions.

Li Peisheng, a rope laying worker in Huangshan Scenic Area——

Twenty-three years of cliff sanitation

One end of the rope is tied to the guard ring on the edge of the cliff with an "8-shaped buckle", and the other end is tied to the waist.

After tying the knot and securing the insurance, after his partner stepped on the rope firmly, Li Peisheng pulled the rope and slid down the cliff...

This set of procedures, Li Peisheng has to operate four to five times a day.

It seems simple, but it contains 23 years of perseverance and dedication day after day.

This year is Li Peisheng's 25th year working in Huangshan Scenic Area.

From the initial ticket checking work to the subsequent cleaning of the road section, in June 1999, Li Peisheng was transferred to the rope release team and became a rope release worker at the Yuping Sanitation Center in Huangshan Scenic Area.

Rope laying is a special type of work in the sanitation of the scenic area. It needs to pick up garbage and plastic bags on the cliffs... This work is hard and dangerous, and courage, skills and physical fitness are indispensable.

"I'm Wuwei in Anhui. I grew up by the water, and I'm very timid, but the first time I let go of the rope, I was still very scared. The vertical drop of the cliff is more than ten stories high, and my body is shaking." Li Peisheng recalled.

Li Peisheng has the strength to not admit defeat, and secretly made up his mind: "Either don't do it, or do it, try to do the best."

After assiduous professional training and long-term field operation, Li Peisheng is now very familiar with this work.

With a rope, he walked freely among the cliffs.

Over the past 23 years, Li Peisheng has accumulated nearly 1,800 kilometers of ropes, which is equivalent to climbing about 200 Mount Everests.

After so many years of rope laying, how did you persevere?

Scared of picking up trash on a cliff?

You can only go down the mountain once a month, have you thought about changing positions?

...Similar questions, Li Peisheng has been asked countless times, but whether it was 23 years ago or now, his answer is the same: "Every industry needs someone to do it, I don't do this work, Someone else has to do it.”

"Every time I put the rope back, tourists will come around and applaud. It's a great feeling." Li Peisheng said, especially when he heard some parents teach their children not to litter, he was very relieved.

Right now, Li Peisheng is 49 years old and is one of the older rope-releasing workers in the Huangshan Scenic Area, but he is firm in his heart: "As long as my physical strength allows, I will continue to work in this position and protect the scenic spot with practical actions. Every grass and every tree makes civilized tourism a fashion."

23 years of climbing cliffs, 23 years of silent perseverance, Li Peisheng's dedication and dedication, has also won the praise of countless people.

In 2012, Li Peisheng was elected as a "good man in China", and in 2017, he was awarded the May 1st Labor Medal of Anhui Province.

On August 13, Li Peisheng received a reply from the general secretary.

In his opinion, this huge encouragement belongs not only to him and Hu Xiaochun, but also to all Huangshan people.

It is understood that in the Huangshan Scenic Area, there are 18 rope releasers like Li Peisheng. They carry ropes on their shoulders and walk through the steep cliffs in exchange for the cleanliness of the Huangshan Scenic Area.

In their view, maintaining the clear waters and green mountains of the scenic spot is the biggest wish and the original intention of sticking to it.

Hu Xiaochun, the guardian of the pine in Huangshan Scenic Area——

One person and one loose for twelve years

Go down the Yuping cableway and go up 300 meters. In a small room only 25 meters away from the welcoming pine, the reporter saw Hu Xiaochun who had just returned from inspection.

I saw him open the drawer, took out the "Welcome Pine Diary", and skillfully recorded: 7:05, check Yingke Pine's body, branches, branches, support frame, cable, lightning protection system and surrounding, no abnormality .

Hu Xiaochun, 42 years old this year, is the 19th guardian of the pine trees in the Huangshan Scenic Area.

In order to strengthen the protection of the welcoming pine, in 1981, the Huangshan Scenic Area established a pine-keeper system, and a special person will provide 24-hour "care" for it.

In 2006, after being discharged from the army, Hu Xiaochun took off his military uniform and put on a forest protection suit to become a firefighter in the Huangshan Scenic Area.

In 2010, after various selections, he became the apprentice of Xu Dongming, the eighteenth pine keeper, and served as the B post of the welcoming pine keeper.

In June 2011, Hu Xiaochun took over the telescope and magnifying glass from Master and officially became the 19th Shousong.

"For me, the welcoming pine is not just a tree. Protecting it is like protecting your family." In Hu Xiaochun's view, 12 years of guardianship have formed a relationship between him, the welcoming pine and Mount Huangshan. An intimacy - "You guard the mountain, I guard you".

From a soldier in the army to a fire fighter, and then a person who welcomes guests and guards the pine, what has changed is the job position, but the mission and responsibility have not changed.

365 days a year, Hu Xiaochun has 300 days to live in the mountains, accompanied by the welcome Song.

In the studio of about 14 square meters, a simple bed, a set of desks and chairs, a monitoring computer and some testing tools are all his belongings on the mountain.

Every morning at 7:00, Hu Xiaochun started patrol and observation work.

Monitor the slight changes of pine branches, pine needles and bark, and check the support frame, cable, and lightning protection facilities... "Routine inspections are carried out every two hours during the day, and in the event of thunderstorms and other weather, inspections are required every half an hour. Once. At night, the infrared anti-intrusion alarm system is activated to check the welcome pine anytime, anywhere." Hu Xiaochun said.

"No change is the best change." This might sound a bit tongue-in-cheek, but Hu Xiaochun's understanding is, "As long as there is no abnormality in the inspection, it means that there is no guard in vain."

After each patrol work, Hu Xiaochun had to go back to the hut and take out the Diary of Greeting Pine to record the growth data of Greeting Pine in detail, as well as the temperature, wind, humidity and other information of the day.

In the past 12 years, he has written more than 70 "Diary of Welcome Pine" with a total of more than 1.4 million words.

Over time, he himself became half a forestry expert.

When should we pay attention to the growth of the shoots, how to deal with strong winds, how to ensure that the soil does not run off after heavy rains, and what protections need to be strengthened when the seasons change... Hu Xiaochun has already memorized these issues by heart.

"A person and a tree are indeed a bit monotonous. In the first two years, I also had the idea of changing jobs." Hu Xiaochun said frankly that during the daytime it was crowded with people, and at night it was so quiet that only the sound of the wind blowing and the trees could be heard. Fortunately, there were family members. Support and encouragement have kept him up to this day.

Speaking of the general secretary's reply, Hu Xiaochun, who is not good at words, said with joy: "When I received the reply, I was very excited. Every time I read it, my heart was warm, and I couldn't calm down for a long time."

"To protect the welcoming pine is to protect the clear waters and green mountains of Huangshan Mountain. This is my duty and mission. I must persevere." Hu Xiaochun said with confidence.
