In an interview with Dagens Nyheter, Annie Lööf said that she sees Magdalena Andersson (S) as the best candidate for prime minister and that she is prepared to sit in a social democratic government after the election this fall.

The message has been criticized by the bourgeois parties and above all by voices within the Center Party.

Among others, the Center Party's youth union, CUF, questioned its party leader's statement and argued that C should "keep the door open for more government alternatives".

However, sitting in an M-led government with Ulf Kristersson at the helm is not an option, says Lööf, at least not as long as they are open to cooperating with the Sweden Democrats.

- As long as the Moderates rule out cooperation with the Center Party and join hands with SD, that path will be difficult.

But our door is open to the Moderates if they want to cut ties with the Sweden Democrats, she says.
