The publication notes that many countries have “woken up” against the backdrop of the active use of the US dollar “as a weapon” in recent years.

It is noted that they began to experiment with trading their national currencies and using other payment systems.

The material says that Moscow's move to abandon the dollar is "the most radical de-dollarization measure taken by a sovereign state." 

In June, Russian presidential aide for economic affairs Maxim Oreshkin, during his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), called the dollar a drug that the world was addicted to.
