A 27-year-old Afghan boy died after being shot and injured while protesting against an urban rodeo in Colmar, in the Europe district.

The facts occurred Sunday in the middle of the day.

A group of Afghans shared a barbecue, before being bothered by the noise of a scooter whose driver was performing a rodeo.

The case is not yet very clear.

Already, there could be several suspects.

This is what the prosecutor of Colmar evokes.

On Sunday, a brawl more or less broke out between two gangs in the Europe district, in Colmar, a sensitive area classified as a "republican reconquest district".

Judicial investigation opened for assassination

On one side, a group of Afghan friends having a barbecue.

On the other, a group of young people, at least one of whom is on a scooter.

A priori, it is he who annoys the Afghans by making noise.

In any case, the tone rises between the two groups.

The driver of the two-wheeler ends up leaving.

But a few minutes later, he or one of his friends, again, there is doubt, comes back with a gun and shoots the 27-year-old Afghan.

The victim, unknown to the police, died in hospital a few hours later.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin sent the CRS 8 to the scene on Monday evening, an intervention unit he created a year ago to restore order and prevent possible urban violence.

For the moment therefore, 48 hours after the events, no one has yet been arrested.

The suspect or suspects are still at large, and a judicial investigation for assassination has been opened.
