China to impose sanctions on pro-Taiwan officials

The list also included the representative of the island in the United States, Xiao Meiqin, and other "hard-line separatists who advocate the island's independence."

Earlier, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said that the PRC urges the United States to respect Beijing's vital interests and give up illusions about using Taiwan to control China.
