A resident of a building in Grigny, Essonne, killed an attack dog on Sunday who was attacking four young women in a neighboring apartment, a police source said.

Sunday around 3 p.m., the man heard “cries of distress” coming from a neighboring apartment.

As he enters, he notices that four women are injured and that a dog, an American Staffordshire Terrier, is out of control.

Unable to calm him down, the neighbor grabbed a knife and "cut the animal's throat", according to the same source.

The young women, born in 1999 and 2003, were injured for one in the left arm, for the other in the right hand and left arm, for the third in the lip.

The most seriously injured was bitten on the breast and had a torn finger.

All of them were taken to the hospital, without vital prognosis.

The Samaritan neighbor was not injured by the dog.

The dog "lived with the girlfriend of the owner" of the animal, absent at the time of the facts, specified this same police source.
